The Testimony About Jesus - Seeing Him With Fresh Eyes!
To Know as We are Known
To Know as We are Known
In this episode of Points of Empowered Discipleship, we discuss Luke Chapter 10:1-2a. Jesus empowers his disciples to serve as advance teams going to the host of locations he planned to visit. In this brief text, we discover four things about Jesus that we should emulate. 1.) Jesus was a planner, 2.) Jesus was a strategist and 3.) Jesus employed the aid of those entrusted to his care and leadership to carry out the work. 4.) Jesus gave his disciples clear instructions for virtually every circumstance they may encounter.
There are few things that have non-negotiable power in our lives. The Law of Sowing and Reaping is one of the non-negotiable truths of human life. Whether you are a follower of Jesus Christ or not you will not escape the gravity of the Law of Sowing and Reaping.
It has been famously said, "Comparison is the source of all unhappiness!" Galatians 6:3-5 echoes that truth by instructing followers of Jesus Christ to focus on doing their own work well and never invest poorly by investing time in comparing yourself or your work to another's.
There is nothing more precious than people to the Father. Here in Galatians 6:1&2 we are instructed on how we should handle a brother or sister who has fallen prey to the temptations and challenges we all face. We learn God's intent for the person who fails and our attitude and approach to our brother or sister.
Discover the difference between Belief and Faith. Though they are connected they are not one and the same. James 2:19 illustrates the truth that belief is essential but it is not equal to Faith. Faith matures beyond belief to action toward the Hope.
The Power of Relationships as outlined in the Teachings of Christ and the New Testament within the community of believers establishes two standards of care. One standard is created for our neighbors and a higher standard and duty of care is given for those who share our faith and commitment to Christ.
Empowered Discipleship offers points of empowerment that inspire believers to live with power and purpose using the teachings of Jesus Christ. This installment discusses truth and how we should live among those who neither share our understanding nor care to know your truth. At best we can share our friendship and care for them as a person.
The Mission of Prayer?
The single most important Biblical directive to love is found in the story related by Jesus when asked: "who is my neighbor?" Insanity has power in an age of indifference!
