The Pathway to a Godly Life.
Sunday, June 7, 2009 at 12:01AM Biblical Wisdom For Godly Living (Part 4)
The only true pathway to a Godly Life is a life that is spent in Love through relationship with others. God has created us for Love and Relationship. Thus we fulfill our purpose as we lead others to Christ through the Loving relationship that we share with them.
God in His wisdom created the Church as the community of people, through which His Love could be communicated to the World. As the conduit of God’s Love, the Church is to be identified by Love that expresses itself through relationship. We fail to honor God and Christ if we fail to become the community of Love and fellowship that God foresaw, that Christ died to create and the Holy Spirit gave birth to in Acts 2.
How do we become the Godly Community, the Love Fellowship that truly represents a Godly Walk? There is only one way by which we may become the people of God in Christ Jesus, who are the authentic Church.
A Godly Commission for Christ’s Community
“Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples: baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always, to the end of the age” Matthew 28:19&20
Go...Make Disciples...Baptize...and Teach.
Jesus empowers the Church and His disciples to carry the message of Love, Hope, Power and Life to the world that is dying for all four of these things. Yet we find that it can only be acquired through discipleship. Discipleship is defined in the commission by obedience to Jesus’ Teachings. Jesus clearly tells us here that our meditation must be expressed through obedience to the Law of Christ. Our discipleship is validated as authentic when we meditate on the Law of Christ.
The Word of God and the Teachings of Christ must become our daily meditation and habitation. It is where our mind must live to engage the Godly life. Blessed is the person who delights in the Word of God and the Teachings of Christ, who meditates on them day and night. The surpassing and consuming work of the church and every disciple is to lead others to delight and meditate on the Law of the Lord Jesus Christ. In truth, this is the substance of Godly Living, to Love and by that, lead others to join us in the Godly Walk.
